Diamond braid cordage is manufactured in an 8, 12, 16, or 32 carrier (strand) over and under configuration. This manner of braiding gives the cord its diamond pattern noticeable on the outside of the cord. Most diamond braids are manufactured with a core of varying fibers. These cords can also be made without core yarns (Hollow Braid) for easy splice ability. This material is available on bulk put-ups, spools or mini spools, or cut to specified lengths.

Nylon diamond braid is one of the best general-purpose cords based on its high strength, elasticity under dynamic load, and excellent resistance to abrasion. The standard braid configuration for this cord is an 8-carrier jacket with a synthetic core. Many popular uses for these cords include starter, venetian blind, pull, and decoy cords.

Polyester diamond braids have the same basic appearance as nylon, but do not stretch nearly as much under load. It is an excellent choice for applications that require high strength under tension with low elongation.
