Manila rope is manufactured from the strongest natural fibers available from the abaca plant grown in the Philippines. Manila rope is a general-purpose rope best suited for jobs where economy, strength, and durability are required. All manila rope provided by Phoenix Rope meets Cordage Institute standard CI 1308-96. Phoenix can also supply rope to meet U.S. Federal specification T-R-605B, amendment 3. We offer 3-strand construction, with the most common put-up being 600' coils. Other put-ups, including 1200 ft coils, cut-lengths and assemblies are available on request. This rope is also available with a mildew resistant treatment per U.S. Federal specification T-T-616B. Sometimes referred to as hemp rope, popular uses include tug-o-war rope, climbing rope, obstacle course rope, landscaping rope, rail car pulling rope, block and tackle rope, and general-purpose construction rope. Sisal rope is similar in characteristics and versatility to manila rope. Sisal rope is manufactured from the agave or sisalana plant. Sisal rope has approximately 80% of the tensile strength of manila rope. The rough texture of sisal makes it an economical general-purpose rope with excellent knot holding ability. Popular uses include landscape rope, agricultural rope, bundling rope, craft rope, and tie-down rope, bird or pet toys.

This rope is manufactured from either 100% cotton yarn or a cotton/spun polyester yarn blend. Cotton rope is soft to the touch, and is available on coils, tubes, or spools. This rope is available to U.S. Federal specification A-A-55622, (superceded T-R-571F), and can be mildew resistant treated per T-T-616B. Popular uses include tent-line rope, hammock rope, halter rope, harness rope, crab trap rope, awning rope, and bird or dog toy rope.
